You know the speed limit. It says "SPEED LIMIT 65". But that does not stop you. No, that applies to everyone else on the road, but not to you. Besides - there's no one else around. 65 - 66 - 67- 68 - 69 - yeah 70! You made it. You didn't get caught!
Your conscience does not bother you too much. Perhaps you already know that you are not supposed to speed. Perhaps you know that "it is the law of the State of..." that you should not speed. But you are above the law. Yes, you "own the road".
The Bible says that you must obey every law of man. The obvious exception is when a law of man contradicts the laws of God. Then, you must "obey God" rather than men. But this does not apply here because God does not require you to break the speeding law. No, not even if you are a Baptist preacher trying to get to church on Sunday morning. You must obey the speed limit or you are breaking God's law when God said that you must obey every law of man. Speeding to church is therefore a sin, even if you are a preacher. You are not above God's laws.
Perhaps you are laughing inside right now that I should dare to tell you to obey the freeway speed limit. Your real problem is that you do not fear God. You think that God is somewhere "far, far away". No, the eyes of the Lord are in very place. God sees what you do. God is writing down every sin that you commit, every single one, in His books.
You have broken many, many laws of God. You have lied. You have stolen. You have had lust in your heart. You may have even committed fornication. You have broken many laws. The breaking of God's laws is called sin.
God will judge you one day out of His books. He will read out your sins, every sin, one by one. God will read out your sins, and then you will be cast into Hell. You will burn in Hell day and night forever and ever. No, you will not get away with your sins. God will haul you into His court one day and you will pay for every single sin you have every committed. Judgment is coming!
God does not want you to have to pay for your sins in Hell. Nevertheless, God must judge sin because He is a just judge and you have broken the law - God's law.
God has provided a way - only one way - for you to escape from being punished for your sins. God sent His Son, Jesus, to die on a Cross to pay the penalty for your sins. Jesus paid it all, for every one of your sins, on that Cross.
Turn from your sins. Come to Jesus today and trust Him to pay for your sins. Jesus will cover your sins with His own blood and make you ready for Heaven when you die. God will give you a new heart as well, a heart that loves God and not sin. You will be truly Born Again.
Come to Jesus today. Then get into a good Fundamentalist Baptist church and live for Jesus and the Bible. Put Jesus First. God bless you as you trust Jesus.
